Hello and Welcome!
My name is Guanzhou Zhu. I am currently a Postdoctoral Associate at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where I work with Professor Ju Li and Professor Yang Shao-Horn on rechargeable sodium-ion and lithium-ion batteries. Prior to joining MIT, I was a Postdoctoral Scholar at Stanford University, where I worked with Professor Hongjie Dai on rechargeable chlorine batteries.
I obtained my PhD in chemistry from Stanford University (advisor: Hongjie Dai) in January 2022. My PhD research mainly involved the development of sodium/chlorine and lithium/chlorine batteries and the studies of aluminum/graphite batteries with ionic liquid electrolytes. Prior to attending Stanford University for my graduate studies, I was an undergraduate student at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and obtained my BS in chemistry in June 2016 with Summa Cum Laude, Departmental Highest Honor, and Dean's Honors List.
I will be joining the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the National University of Singapore as a Presidential Young Professorship-Assistant Professor in Fall 2025. My group will focus on developing next-generation high-energy-density rechargeable batteries by designing novel electrode materials/electrolytes and acquiring in-depth understandings on various battery systems.
